Hello ! And GM: this is the first Working Group (WG) Weekly Update of the year! Consider turning on all notifications for this topic so that you may remain informed of what happens in our community Updates will go live on Sunday.

TE Academy x TEC: Introduction to Token Engineering
course will happen later today at 4 pm CET in this Zoom link and, if you haven’t been to one yet, you don’t wanna miss it. - Forum Highlight: As always, you’ll find many guiding references in our TEC Timeline here, in our TEC Handbook here, and in our TEC Retrospective Miro board, all of which are open for everyone to see. In it we visualize in-house empirical findings: what has gone well, what can be done better, and what specific actions we can take to keep progressing successfully.

- As always, our Nonviolent Communication (NVC) bookclub takes place on Thursdays in the DAO Bookclub server at 21:00 CET; we’re currently on Chapter 13 of Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall B. Rosenberg.
- If you believe in what we do, consider supporting our Gitcoin grant.
-
Forum Highlight: Here are some important links to consider:

- Read the notes from our weekly WG sync.
Commons Swarm
-
The Commons Upgrade is live! We’ve now deployed the Gardens and upgraded it to a Commons:
- We currently have the HatchDAO’s Commons Upgrade Vote: The vote (titled ‘Vote #4’) sets aside the initial buy amount (i.e. 250,000 wxDAI) to a separate vault so it can be used to buy into the bonding curve; it allows the DAO to transfer TEC tokens and then it migrates all the leftover wxDAI (besides the initial buy) to the conviction voting pool and the bonding curve app. Then, it makes a handshake deal with the migration app where it only sends this money if the Gardens DAO creates a token (i.e. TEC token) and gives it to all the (TECH) token holders.
- On January 19th this vote will be executed and the TEC tokens will be minted for each and every Hatcher, although they’ll be frozen.
- Also on January 19th: the ABC Opening Vote goes LIVE!
- On January 25th the Hatchers’ Token Freeze period begins and lasts for 26 weeks, up until July 25th, 2022 when TEC tokens will unlock and become liquid.
- Also on January 25th: our ABC will Open and TEC will be able to be minted by anyone!
- And finally, for those that do Ragequit, the delay between requesting and receiving funds will be of 2 days.
Soft Gov
- 82 people voted on our Commons Upgrade Runoff, choosing the parameters that will frame our collaborative economy. Here’s the full Snapshot breakdown.
- Our TEC Community Covenant is live on IPFS as part of our upgrade migration.
- A Snapshot vote concerning our Token Freeze and When should the vesting period start? went live and is now closed: When ABC opens (Jan 24th/28th) was the notion that will be executed.
- Another Snapshot vote titled How should we adjust the ABC to deal with the unknowns presented by Ragequitting? also went live and closed: the consensus was for devs to assess and use their own discretion to proceed.
