TEC Working Groups Weekly Update

Monday, November 15, 2021

Hello ! Here are the Working Group updates from last week. If you feel like you’re missing out, check out the calendar and join us in real time during any of our many calls.

No Spotlight this week.

:ear_of_rice: Stewards

  • Sprint 21 ended and the Commons Upgrade (CU) is getting closer: keep yourself updated or just help us with the hype by retweeting or tagging our Twitter page musings
  • The key dates for the CU are the following:
    • Now - Nov 18 <— Learn & Propose
    • Nov 19 - 25 <— Propose & Debate
    • Nov 25 - 30 <— Debate & Rock the Vote
    • Dec 1 - 6 <— Stewards Council & Voters pamphlet creation
    • Dec 7 - 13 <— Runoff vote
  • The Initial Buy-In Snapshot proposal was voted on and passed by our community
  • We’ve begun working on a Tweet Feed for our Discord; special thanks go to Metaverde for her insight in suggesting this feature
  • Params Parties are being scanned for improvements
  • Our very own Griff Green was featured on the Bankless Podcast: have a look if you want to hear some epic stories
  • TE Academy’s Introduction to Token Engineering course kicked off last Thursday Nov. 11 at 4:30pm UTC; if you missed it, the next one will take place on Wednesday Dec. 15 at 9:00am UTC
  • Consider joining us for our Sprint Retrospective and Stewards Council meetings which alternate every Thursday at 1800 CET; and also for our Stewards Weekly sync which happen every Wednesday at 1900 CET
  • Forum Highlight: As always, you’ll find many guiding references in our TEC Timeline here, in our TEC Handbook here, and in our TEC Retrospective Miro board, all of which are open for everyone to see. In it we visualize in-house empirical findings: what has gone well, what can be done better, and what specific actions we can take to keep progressing successfully

:dove: Gravity

  • Gravity’s ethos is to continue fostering competent conflict management for us personally, and for our community collectively
  • Accordingly, we’re working on improving access to our services by introducing a sidebar interface on our Discord server where the active Gravitons in our community can be contacted

  • Our 9th session will center around Ostrom’s Principles: Deicision-taking and Decision Spaces, will be hosted by Lívia Deschenmeyer, and will take place on Tuesday Nov. 16th
  • Consider joining us for our Nonviolent Communication (NVC) bookclub, which takes place on Thursdays in the DAO Bookclub server; we are currently on Chapter 7 of Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall B. Rosenberg
