This week’s Spotlight: Deep Work

:ear_of_rice: Stewards

  • This week marks the rise of our 20th Sprint, with more than 40 weeks of working pace under our wings, and a nest of >1.5M wxDAI
  • From these funds, The Initial Buy-in forum post proposes that we use 250K wxDAI to buy into our own bonding curve, judoing our Commons Upgrade initialization into an arbitrage event

  • The 5th session of our 2nd Graviton Training concerned Alternative Dispute Resolution and was hosted by Lorelei Loie
  • Our 6th session will center around Decolonization and will be hosted by Durgadas (On Tuesday Oct. 26)
  • Once again, our Nonviolent Communication (NVC) bookclub took place on Thursday in the DAO Bookclub server; we are currently on Chapter 4 of Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall B. Rosenberg
  • Last week we launched a new GitHub repo to coordinate our issues
  • Gravity’s ethos is to continue fostering competent conflict management for us personally, and for our community collectively
  • Forum Highlight: 2nd Graviton Training Study Plan

  • Check out our new EVM-Crispr front-end: it allows non-developers to craft more intricate DAO proposals; a critical new piece of TE infrastructure
  • To prevent website downtime, Commons Stack has created several (redundant) sites for the management of our DAO: here, here, and here

:raised_hands:t4: Soft Gov

  • Our Rewards System Task Force has been at it for weeks now, updating our Praise framework. Their next sync call is Thursday Oct. 28th at 16:00 CET in our Community Hall VC
  • The advising, voting, and structural decision-making of our Commons is done differently depending on its scale of impact: check how we’re conceptualizing the process visually here
  • Forum Highlight: We now have a Peer to Peer Feedback form so feel free to leave us some feedback

:houses: Communitas

  • We are still working on improving the onboarding journey, making it more accessible for everyone. If you have any feedback on how we can improve, contact @eduardovegap on Discord
  • Wanna contribute? Check our Communitas WG Funding Proposal and comment on ways to co-create it together
  • Forum Highlight: Our Orientation Call is Wednesdays at 18:00 CET on the Community Hall VC; and our TEC Lounge is Fridays at 17:00 CET also on the Community Hall VC

  • Started a series on Ethical Decision-making frameworks with Mount Manu’s presentation on the Capability Approach as a framework to evaluate an individual’s freedom to pursue well-being

  • We will soon rebrand to T.E.A.M. (Token Engineering Amplify Messengers)
  • Our Creative Onboarding campaign continues and we are now looking for project managers, social media managers, graphic designers, and animators for contributors
  • Working on a framework for bounties and Comms-related project management
  • Post-Commons Upgrade manifesto will soon be unveiled!

:male_detective: Transparency

  • Ongoing discussion about updating our audit process, incorporating analytics, and creating a transparency report for all WGs (as opposed to doing individual reporting)
  • Forum Highlight: Our WG’s bi-weekly sync calls are on Mondays at 15:00 CET

:classical_building: Legal

  • Finished the current draft of terms and conditions for the ABC
  • Forum Highlight: Join us every other Friday at 16:00 CET for a chance to contribute and learn more about the ABC’s legal framework

:robot: Params

  • Ongoing design validation of the Commons Configuration Dashboard (CCD)
  • Finished beta version testing of the CCD this weekend
