TEC Working Groups Weekly Update

Hello :wave:! Here are the Working Group updates from last week. If you feel like you’re missing out, check out the calendar and join us in real time during any of our many calls.

Our Spotlight section is being reinvented so, again, no Spotlight this week.

:ear_of_rice: Stewards

  • We are now midway through Sprint 21
  • We’ve penned an open letter to all Hatchers to inform them about relevant dates pertaining to the creation, deliberation, and initialization of the parameter values that will impact our Commons Upgrade
  • The Steward Offboarding event took place this week: we thank and bid farewell to Craig, Jess, Marko, Santi, Suga, and Sem
  • The Initial Buy-in Proposal has been appended with instructions for a nomination process where the community will be picking a set of 7 people that’ll serve as multi-sig trustees
  • TEC was one of the winners of Optimism’s Retroactive Public Goods Funding grant. Special thanks to Greg for having registered our community into the process
  • Our very own Griff Green was featured on the Bankless Podcast: have a look if you want to hear some epic, first-person stories about pivotal moments in the history of crypto
  • Forum Highlight: As always, you’ll find many guiding references in our TEC Timeline here, as well as in our TEC Handbook here; our TEC Retrospective Miro board is also open for everyone to see

:dove: Gravity

  • Gravity’s ethos is to continue fostering competent conflict management for us personally, and for our community collectively
  • The 7th session of our 2nd Graviton Training concerned The Psychology of Human Leadership and was hosted by Mount Manu
  • Our 8th session will center around a Gravity Deep Dive and will be hosted by Juan Carlos Bell on Tuesday Nov. 9th
  • Once again, our Nonviolent Communication (NVC) bookclub took place on Thursday in the DAO Bookclub server; we are currently on chapter 6 of Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall B. Rosenberg. Join us next Thursday as we go over chapter 7
  • Forum Highlight: 2nd Graviton Training Study Plan

:globe_with_meridians: Commons Swarm

  • New version of EVM-Crispr (v0.2.3)
  • After 3 votes, we finally burned the TECH tokens that were held by lost addresses (and steps have been taken to ensure that the process of returning lost funds is much more efficient the next time this happens)
  • Our ABC audit revisions are 87.5% done. Once complete, this will allow us to demo what we are parameterizing in our Dashboard
  • Last but not least, we are making progress in our Gardens frontend

  • Our Rewards System Task Force has been working on updating our Praise framework for several weeks now. Their sync calls are on Wednesdays at 20:00 CET in our Community Hall VC
  • Our Snapshot Params vote passed: see the full proposal here

:houses: Communitas

  • After weeks of work, we’ve completed the first rough draft of our final Discord onboarding journey
  • If you’d like to contribute, consider checking our Communitas WG Funding Proposal and familiarize yourself with how we intend to flourish after the Commons Upgrade
  • Forum Highlight: As usual, our Orientation Call is Wednesdays at 18:00 CET on the Community Hall VC; and our TEC Lounge is Fridays at 17:00 CET also on the Community Hall VC

  • Forum Highlight: Solidity study group hosted by @metaverde from Nov. 18 on through Feb. 24th

:satellite: Comms (soon to be T.E.A.M.)

  • 'tis Params Party season: check our calendar and join us at one of the many parties we’re hosting
  • Our Creative Onboarding campaign continues and we are actively looking for project managers, graphic designers, social media managers, and animators to join our ranks as contributors
  • Working on a framework for bounties and Comms-related project management
  • Post-Commons Upgrade manifesto will soon be unveiled

:male_detective: Transparency

  • Currently working on a Transparency Survey for the community
  • We’re also developing a framework for Offboarding Credentials
  • Finally, we’ll be starting the Transparency Debates for the multi-sig process soon
  • Forum Highlight: Our bi-weekly sync calls are on Mondays at 15:00 CET in Transparency’s VC

:classical_building: Legal

  • Open call for legal experts: we’re looking for contributors with legal expertise in the DAO space; DM iviangita on Discord if you’d like to be involved
  • We’re working on a new draft of terms and conditions for the ABC
  • We’re creating a WG Funding Proposal that’ll enable us access to readily available capital in the (improbable but possible) event of legal action
  • Forum Highlight: Join us every other Friday at 16:00 CET for a chance to contribute and learn more about the ABC’s legal framework
